We have our Own Sloshing Pillar of Pain

I was inspired by the "Sloshing Pillar of Pain" article and I thought it would be a great tool for our expanding arsenal of equipment.

Ive made one today with 50mm PVC and this one has some additional features. It comes in two parts 1.5m parts, fitted together by a threaded compression coupling and a screw cap at either end. This will make it easier to transport around and fill-up once the two pieces are connected.



If we are at the beach or near the river it will be easy to dip the pillar once connected and fill up, or use a tap. Paul and I estimate the weight will be about 22-25kg once 3/4 full of water and would be about 27-30kg fully loaded. Sand is also an option as a filler.

Zercher Walk
Zercher Squat
Push Press
Clean &Jerk
OH Squat
Snatch
Rows
Press
Static Holds
Tricep Extensions
Bi Cep Curls
Front Extensions

The ~20kg was for diameter of 10-12cm , is 50mm the diameter or radius?

Just as you wrote this I was trying it out and yes it is too light as it is 50mm not the 10cm as we calculated.

So heres what I have done. Ive bought another joiner, added another half meter to each end and filled it full of gravel.

We have the choice of 1x 3m length or 2x2m.

The weight of the 3M length is 17kg, ideally the weight should be about 25kg, and able to shift around.

I still feel it is too light but ive spent $70 and don't want to spend too much more on it if it is not going to be effective. Open to suggestions, lead weights/sinkers could be an option I just don't have a reference as to how much they would cost for 25kg.
